Barbara Kokkinakis obtained an undergraduate degree from Oklahoma State University in 1971 and a Master of Science of Administration at California State University in 1979. She received a Juris Doctorate from the University of West Los Angeles in 1983 and was admitted to the California Bar in that year. While earning her law degree, Ms. Kokkinakis was a personnel manager in private industry. Her legal career has been exclusive in insurance defense litigation, both as private defense counsel and staff counsel for two major multi-line insurance carriers. She was managing attorney for Transamerica Insurance Company’s Southern California staff counsel office. Upon leaving Transamerica, Barbara worked as an associate with Sheehy & Bullard and Tomaryn & O’Reilly. She handled litigation for various defense clients including public entities. Ms. Kokkinakis has been a partner with the firm since 1999. Ms. Kokkinakis is certified through the National Institute for Trial Advocacy/ Notre Dame Law School. She is a member of the State Bar of California, the American Bar Association, the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel, and the Southern California Fraud Investigators Association. She is a member of the Southern California Mediation Association and obtained her initial mediation training through the Los Angeles County Bar Dispute Resolution Services. |
